The New Normal
There isn't anything "new" about a happy family discovering each other and building relationships! These people are warm, funny, a little stereotyped but totally real so far. I vote for this show!
Love it
"The New Normal" is funny, warmhearted and well written. I see that some people are comparing "New Normal" to "Modern Family", which I love too, but it's not the same thing. We get to see a much more "real" relationship between the two men and not just a constant bag of laughs. "Modern Family" is LOL funny, but it's characters are always funny and not really "real". At least in my opinion.
"The New Normal" is predominately about our gay couple and it shows them as a real couple/family and not a just parody of one. We see the men interact as a couple, we see them in bed having conversations and even -gasp!- kissing and being affectionate, all of which is done tastefully. I see these two characters as positive roll-models for any family and all with a little camp but not too much negative stereotyping. (Okay the grandmother, but you have to have some or it would be boring)
I hope this show stays around for a long time.
Very promising!
I loved the characters; especially the young granddaughter. Witty and quick like Modern Family, but more edgy. Can't wait to see the next episode!
