Marry Me, Baby

super funny
This show has a lot of uncomfortably funny moments. Love it. I hope they keep it going. Definitely a must watch show.

Starts slow, then gets hilarious
Judging from the other customer reviews, it looks like this show won't be around very long.

Judging from the first two episodes, that would be unfortunate. This is a hilarious, out-of-the-box show. Doesn't have the creative writing genius of, say, 30 Rock, but the premise is solid and the execution is often outstanding.

Episode 2, "The Skip-Lantic Ocean," unfortunately starts a little too slow; the first five minutes have no laughs--which, for a comedy show, is a very bad thing indeed. But the rest of the episode more than makes up for it. Things really get good when the President gets some impromptu counseling and parenting advice from the Joint Chiefs of Staff (right in the middle of a National Security meeting, of course). Bill Pullman demonstrates some really superb comedic acting here--his timing, intonation, and facial expressions are perfect. After that scene, I laughed all the way to the end.

Give this show a chance.

Could be better.
The premise of the show would be interesting; the regular every day struggles of the First Family, a blended family, at that. It has potential...

...but it's just over the side of too silly. It could be closer to okay ~without~ the Skip character. I know Gad is one of the creators, but that character is what puts the show beyond the pale of watchable.

I find I enjoy the sequences with all of the other characters, even in the slapstick, "Oh, please, that wouldn't happen," moments, but as soon as Skip comes on camera, I check my text messages until he goes away again.

There could be a balance between what would actually happen if the POTUS had a goofy frat boy son living in the White House, and this degree of absurdity. But they've missed that balance. It's just too silly.
